Kathy E. Kauffman, 62, of Muhlenberg Twp., passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center.

She was the wife of Luther F. Kauffman. They were married on January 20, 1987, and celebrated twenty-nine years of marriage. Born in Floydada, Texas, she was the daughter of Phillip L. and Martha J. (Griffith) Hawk, Silsbee, Texas.

Kathy was a graduate of General H.H. Arnold High School in Weisbaden, Germany. She worked as a personal secretary at Arrow Corporation, Reading.

Kathy loved to read and enjoyed animals.

Surviving, in addition to her husband and parents, is one daughter, Stephanie G. (Grey), wife of James Gorham, Virginia Beach, Virginia; four sons: Matthew G. Grey, Wichita Falls, Texas; Eric Kauffman, Birdsboro; Mark Kauffman, and his wife, Laura, Douglassville; and David Kauffman, and his wife, Jeanie, Mohrsville; and seven grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Miranda, Emma, Greyson, Lily, Maggie and Sally.

Kathy is also survived by three brothers: William T. Hawk, and his wife, Lupe, San Antonio, Texas; Tommy L. Hawk, and his wife, Gail, Silsbee, Texas; and James R. Hawk, and his wife, Kathy, Bossier City, Louisiana; and two sisters, Betty J. (Hawk), wife of Nelson Moeller, Reading, and Barbara J. (Hawk), wife of Gary Martin, Austin, Texas.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. A visitation with the family will be held in the funeral home Saturday 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to American Diabetes Association, 150 Monument Road, Suite 100, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
